You know it's time to be home when...

I worked a half a day today (well, I ended up staying until 2pm...). The kids were already down for their nap. When I woke Brooks up, I expected smiles... but what did I get?

"Where's Mimi?"

I finished my marathon working today - and it feels like I am out of school for the summer. I had a great week. It reminds me that I really do love being a veterinarian, and I am good at it!

Sunday night, a guest speaker was telling a story of a motivational speaker. He said if you feel like you never get anything accomplished, make a list of the things that matter the most. So, if nothing else, you get SOMETHING accomplished that day.

For me, at the clinic, if I finished the day feeling like my clients were happy with how I treated their pets, I felt satisfied. I felt this all week. Each day I finished I felt like I had done a good job.

Now, I get to me a full-time Mom again! :)

Mom, I bet Brooks, being the highly intelligent child he is, remembered that when he went to sleep Mimi was there and quickly put two and two together and asked where she was! Don't you think?
Glad you had a great week and a half.

Love,
Aunt Laura

I can tell your a great veterinariean. Heck I can't even spell it. They didn't teach that in music school :) Wow, a racoon. I've seen one of those get caught before, I wouldn't want to mess with one.

You get a lot accomplished in a week, but then again, we all know you're the genius of the family.

I would love to help with decorations for the party. I will be out of town this weekend for a ladies day, but will be pretty free once I get back. I heard from Tracy Stiff that she and her girls plan to come. And she said Kim Isbell hopes to come too. I didn't know if you had heard from her, so thought I would mention it. And I will definitely plan to bring my girls. How many are you expecting so far?

Are you taking some time off work? Or will you be working less? Just wondering since you said you get to be a full time mom now! I'll get to be a full time mom for about 8 weeks following Nov 24, then back to school in Feb. Thank goodness we really DO get out for the summer!!

Actually, I'm just going back to my normal schedule of 2 days a week. I feel like I miss out on so much when I am at work! Who will be watching that baby girl when you go back to work?

Your arrangement is beautiful. Even the mention of Gatlinburg this time of year makes me envious!!! The racoon below is too cute. I can't believe he was a patient. Too funny.
