Saturday night

Tonight, after a long week at work, I decided to take Scott out to eat. I didn't exactly take him out (we had a gift certificate), but we had a wonderful time eating some excellent food! I wish we could do this more often. Ah, the dreams of parents of young children... Our waitress asked what we were celebrating, and we said "just getting out of the house!" She gave us a free dessert - authentic cheesecake. Yum!

Meredith and Abby watched the kids. Our children love them! Kate was really pumped about them coming over tonight. Thank you, girls!

So, when we got home, I started loading eggs for the church wide Easter egg hunt tomorrow. Kate was a big help, first by opening the eggs for me, then by filling the eggs and handing them back to me to close. She is SO excited about tomorrow, because we are egg hunting AND having a picnic (she has been playing picnic all week)...

Sleeping beauty

I'm quite sure that if our princess was sleeping on a mattress with a pea under it, she was very much unaware of it.

Paging Dr. McLemore

A friend and colleague called me the other day and it was great to hear from him! We didn't talk long, but he said that he and his wife were doing great and have also been enjoying my blog. Charles, I wanted you to know that Sarah's blog (remember from the clinic?) is also listed on the side. She has 2 beautiful daughters and she and her husband now live in WA state. How time flies!

This is my friend's dog, Binki. I WISH I could take credit for this picture - I thought it was so neat! Thanks, Melissa!

Look who's talking....

I need to stop and take a moment to tell you what words Brooks is saying now. He has been talking gibberish for a while now (well, he is Scott's child), but now he is saying many words, and his tiny voice is so adorable!

"Bible" (his newest word)
"Mama" (he has said that for a long time)
"Bye Bye"
"Juice"
"Mimi"
"Shoe"
"Ouch!"
"Stop"
"No" (can you see the trend?)
"Jump"
"Go Boy!"
"Light"

Fulfillment

When we bought this house last year, the previous owners (and the owners before that) told us that there was an artesian spring that runs in our back yard from November until February. There would be times that the water was high and the sound would be beautiful to listen to.

Well, then came the drought of 2007.

But, the recent rains (especially from last night) have created our own simulated artesian springs! And, the sound is pretty - and the bridge built to cross it was definitely needed. Thank you, God, for our much needed rain!

Better at last

Well, Scott is feeling much more like himself now - I am so glad! It has been a long last couple of days at the Busby house. And, this week is going to test my patience a bit more...

Tonight is Bunco! in Wetumpka. It will be a short drive since I will leave from work to go there. Dr. Brooks is going to come if she is feeling OK. How fun will that be!

I have a CE I want to go to on Thursday night, also. I have really neglected the local meetings since the kids came, and I need to get back into it. This really isn't a local meeting, but I can get some CE hours, and that will help me at the main conference that I will have to attend later this year.

Then, for church activities: clean up day at the building is Saturday. We have already lined up a babysitter to watch the kids for the morning so that we can help. Then, the church Easter egg hunt is going to be this Sunday after church - so now I need to get the kids baskets together and ready.

But, thank goodness, Scott is feeling himself now. Maybe my stress levels will come back to planet Earth (sorry Mark and Leah). Would it be rude to ask for some prayers for more patience for myself? Thanks you guys!
