Scary!

Any one know what kind of spider this fellow is?

He was "guarding" my hummingbird feeder.

Swim classes started today!

Before class.

Love this one!

To start, they took each of the kids out to see what they knew and what they were afraid of.

Kate keeps saying that she jumped off the diving board! Well, she KINDA jumped off the diving board - but she still gets credit!

Some funnies to remember

I try so hard to remember funny things the kids say, but usually forget. But, here are some that I have managed to remember:

Kate: "Mama, can you do me a favorite?" or "Let me read the corrections (directions)"

This morning Scott presided over communion. When Brooks saw him, he whispered (or rather chanted): "Da-dee, Da-dee, Da-dee"

Kate: "Mama, you stink." Thanks, dear.

Last year, the kids started asking us to "spank" something that hurt them - like, if they fell and hit their head on the chair - we would have to spank the chair. Lately, Brooks tells me that he doesn't want me to spank it, because it might break... (perhaps this is a reflection of how many spankings he is getting lately?)

What?

While out shopping, Kate suddenly stopped.

Kate: "Mama, I need to scratch myself."

Me: "You need to do what?"

K: "I need to scratch myself."

M: "OK..." (bracing myself for what is about to come)

Kate quietly leaned over and scratched her legs below her knees.

K: "That's much better, Mama!"
