Well, we tried...

Scott has caught "the bug" - he was up most of the night last night with the "green apple trots" (as he calls them). He went to the dr. today and they said that he had a viral intestinal infection. THANK GOODNESS THERE IS NO PUKING INVOLVED! :) We can handle some diarrhea. So far, the kids are fine. We decided not to go to church tonight, because so many kids (and adults) are sick right now. They both just got over being sick themselves, and I'm not anxious to get them sick again. I know, I know - I can't avoid it forever, but at least when it is this bad, we can try.

So, I haven't been checking on my blogs today as I usually would. Scott is feeling much better tonight, but is going to stay home tomorrow, too. The kids are going to Mimi's and Pa's house (provided that everyone is fine tomorrow morning).

This morning, when I got the kids up, I told Kate to be quiet, because Daddy was sick. She told me that she needed to give him "big hugs and big kisses so that he would feel better". Well, she blew him kisses from the bedside and that pleased her just fine. When she came to tell him goodnight, she said, "Good night, Sweet Daddy" (usually I tell her "Good night, Sweet Girl") It made a tough day for Scott alot better.

Talk about scary

Scott's college friend from Harding sent us (as well as others) an e-mail with video he taped of a monster of a tornado. He sold the rights to CNN and NBC - you will see this again on TV!

Well, it's Tuesday

Nothing much going on around here today. I have decided to stay inside today and not get out with the kids. We played BUNCO last night and I am a bit tired today. Brooks' nose is pretty much back to normal - for the first time in 3 weeks he hasn't had any Benadryl. Yeah!

Brooks is walking everywhere. He just cackles the entire time. I promise I will have video coming of it to post. It is the cutest.

Anyway, keep praying for all the parents of sick kiddos. There are so many children with that stomach virus and the flu around here - you can just hear parent's groans everywhere. Children are the most wonderful blessings, but it is hard when they don't feel good! We hope to continue to dodge it...

I am excited about making 10,000! I hope you keep reading!

Since this blog is informative as well as my only attempt to journal/scrapbook our family, you might, at times, get bored with the readings. So, here are some more ramblings of sayings, that I affectionately call "Katisms", from the past week. I hope you enjoy them!

(Leaving church) Kate: "Mama, are we going to go eat?"

Me: "Yes, ma'am, Kate"

Kate: "We are going to eat chicken, and fries, and milk, and playground"

(Anytime during the day) Kate: "Hi Mama! Hi Brooks! What ya'll doing?"

(At anytime during the day) Kate: "No Sir, Brooks! No Sir". I guess she has heard that enough.

(In the bathtub one night last week) Me: "Who would you like to invite to your birthday party?"

Kate: "Alex, Payton, Ashlyn, Thomas and Hayes" (not in that order and N-O-T that fast)

Me: "Is there anyone else you would like to invite?"

(After thinking) Kate: "Can Kate come, too?"

I am listening to her playing with her new doghouse for Oscar that she got from Uncle Tim and Aunt Patrice. She just put "Oscar" (her dog) to bed, and told him: "Now go to sleep, sweet dreams and I love you", then gave him a huge smooch. What a sweatheart!

She also likes to come up to us and give us kisses so that we will "feel better". And, when she askes for kisses for booboo's, I never seem to be able to kiss the correct spot, because 1 spot turns into several. It's very endearing.

This morning on the way to church, she said she saw something red. I asked her, "Where?" Now, I expected to hear the usual response, "Right there, Mama" (but not usually knowing where there is). Instead, she replied, "Right there on your dress, Mama". She is not just talking but thinking AND talking. I caught it before Scott did - I think that's a mother thing.

I wish I could think of more... I know there are more! I'm sure I will edit this post more later.

Look who's walking!

Well, it took long enough - but for 2 days Brooks has been walking everywhere! It took me a while to catch him for a picture because he was sporatic. Tonight, however, he walked all over the house. He has walked for a month now, ONLY while holding our finger. So, his first steps have been all over the house! Go Brooks! We are so proud of you!

New template

So, I am trying out a new template. I don't know - I miss my old one! I'm not too big on change! But, I'll give it a few days. Any ideas?
